Jim was born in North Carolina and has lived in Tampa most of his life. Kathy is a native of Tampa. Both are graduates of USF, Jim with a BS in Managerial Finance and Kathy with a BA and an MA in Elementary Education. Together, they have seen firsthand the phenomenal growth and development of the Tampa Bay area.

Jim has been in the real estate profession since 1979 and has worked on both sides of the bay. He has sold real estate in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. He has been active in corporate relocation, managed an office in Palm Harbor, and was a member of the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce. Jim has been with Kennard Realty since 1993. With his many years in the business, he has EXPERIENCE representing both buyers and sellers. His special expertise is creative financing.

Kathy worked for the Hillsborough County School Board for many years as a teacher and elementary school administrator. With her background in educational leadership and having obtained her real estate license in 2001, she brings organizational skills and ENTHUSIASM to the team. Kathy earned the designation of GRI (Graduate REALTOR Institute) in February, 2004 and e-PRO in 2008. She was the recipient of a Womens Council of Realtors Beacon Award in December, 2005 for Number of Transactions from November 1, 2004 - October 31, 2005. In December, 2009, Kathy was honored with a very special award. She was named Realtor of the Year by the Tampa Chapter of Womens Council of Realtors.

On the personal side, Jim is an avid golfer and Kathy likes to sew and paint when time permits and also enjoys her hobby of collecting ladies vintage compacts. Jim has served on the Board of Directors of their Homeowners' Association. Kathy is a member of the Fern Garden Club of Odessa and Women's Council of Realtors (WCR). Jim and Kathy love to go "antiquing" together. They love their church and are active in it.
